    Some creators claim there's a way to earn money on TikTok just by scrolling through your feed, but these claims are false. There is no evidence that TikTok has ever paid users to watch videos, though there are a few uncited articles online that reference a "Benefits and Rewards" program that never existed.[1]
    • A video from TikToker @nashiz5 debunked a viral video that showed a "Watch Video & Earn Money" option in TikTok's settings. It turns out the person who created the video added a fake option to the TikTok settings screen in a photo editing app.

    Most claims that you can earn money by watching TikTok videos are "task scams" in which scammers claim you can earn easy money doing repetitive tasks like "reviewing" or liking videos and following links.[4] No matter what you do, these scammers will not pay you–instead, they'll trick you into providing your passwords or personal information, downloading malware, following affiliate links, signing up on an endless stream of spammy websites, or even paying them. Some examples:
    • This video from @myantispyware on YouTube has found TikTok videos that claim you can "become a TikTok reviewer" and earn money by joining the "new watch & earn program". Following the link takes you to a scam website designed to look like a legit TikTok page, and you'll be redirected to complete various "offers" that lead nowhere.
    • Redditor u/Milemouse discovered a similar scam when responding to an ad that said it was possible to "earn a commission reward for watching TikTok videos."
    • Redditor /u/martynbiz received a call from a "recruiter" who claimed they could earn £300-600 (about $260-$515 USD) a day by liking TikTok videos. Other Redditors have received similar solicitations via Facebook.
    • Some scam videos claim TikTok only offers "watch and earn" in certain countries, but say you can use "workarounds" to use it where you live. You'll be told you have to download random apps, sign up for websites, or complete tasks before you can activate the feature. The videos seem convincing, but they're all scams.

Legit Ways to Earn Money on TikTok

    Join the TikTok Creator Rewards Program.     Sign up for TikTok One. TikTok One makes it easy for creators to find brands to partner with on TikTok. Brands will pay you to promote their products and/or earn commissions on sales and referrals. Once you reach 1000 followers, you can be invited to TikTok One by a brand (or by TikTok). Alternatively, you can apply for projects once you qualify on the web.[6]

TikTok LIVE lets you earn money by collecting virtual gifts that you can redeem for real money, selling subscriptions to exclusive content, and partnering with brands.[7] Once you reach 1000 followers, the option to go live will appear in the New Post area.     Offer subscriptions to your followers. With TikTok subscriptions, your subscribers pay a monthly fee to access your exclusive subscriber-only content. The amount you can earn depends on how many subscribers you have and the number of views your videos receive.
