Quickly Fix Volume Control on an Apple TV Remote

Charge your remote for at least 30 minutes to rule out battery problems.
Restart your remote by pressing and holding the TV/Control Center and Volume Down buttons at the same time for 5 seconds.
Go to Settings > Remotes and Devices > Volume Control to ensure the volume buttons control the right audio device.

Charge your remote.
