All gifts should be personalized. Make sure the gift is something your coworker will enjoy, appreciate, use, and so forth. I recommend going to the dollar store. It's not the price of the gift, it's the thought and the sentiment of the gift that counts. If you buy something that your coworker told you they like, or that you've noticed would fit well with their interests or hobbies, it truly doesn't matter that it came from the dollar store. They'll appreciate it no matter what, because it'll make them feel seen.

If you aren't sure what they might like, you could even just write them a heartfelt card.
