Microsoft Edge Game Assist is a new feature in Windows 11 that allows you to see guides and tips easily while you’re playing a game. Ways to Close or Uninstall Game Assist

  • While playing a game, press Windows + G to open the Game Bar, and click the Unpin button on the Game Assist panel to close it.
  • Access the Game Bar’s Widget menu, navigate to Widget Store → Installed, and click on the 3 dots next to Game Assist to uninstall it.
  • Go through Settings → Apps → Installed Apps, search for Microsoft Edge Game Assist, and click the 3 dots to uninstall the program.

  1. Whenever you’re playing a game on your computer, use the keyboard shortcut to open Game Bar and any other widgets you’ve installed.
  2. Select the Widgets icon, which resembles two rectangles near the top of your screen. Then, select Widget Store near the bottom of the list. Then, click on the Installed tab near the top of the window.[3]
  3. Look through the list until you find Microsoft Edge Game Assist, and click on the 3 dots near the right side of the window. Select the Uninstall option and confirm your selection. Once it’s finished uninstalling, simply press Win+G or click the X in the top-right to close out of the Game Bar.

  1. Open the Start menu on your computer, and search for “Terminal” in the search bar. Click on the Terminal to open a new window and enter your commands.[6]
  2. Once you have the window open, enter the text string into the Terminal. Once you’re finished, hit Enter to send the command through and uninstall Game Assist from your device.[7]
