Steps
Using your Shopping Cart

Open Amazon. You can either log in to Amazon.com in a web browser on your computer or open the Amazon Shopping app on your smartphone or tablet.

Search for a product you want to compare. Use the search bar at the top of the page to search for the name of a product you want to compare. Then click or tap the page to view the product page.Advertisement

Click or tap Add to Cart. This will add the product to your cart. Adding a product does not mean you have to purchase it. You can use your cart to view all the products you are interested in side by side.

Search for another product you want to compare. Use the search bar at the top of the page to find another product you'd like to compare. Click or tap the product to view the product page.

Click or tap Add to Cart. This will add the product to your cart. You can add any other items to your shopping cart that you want to compare.

Click or tap the shopping cart icon. This displays all items in your shopping cart. If you are using a web browser, it’s in the upper-right corner. If you are using the mobile app, it’s at the bottom of the app.

Add the extension to your web browser. The E-Commerce Side-to-Side plug-in is available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Click Get for Chrome or Get for Edge at the bottom of the page. Then click Add to Chrome or GET at the top of the page. Finally, confirm you want to add the extension.

Open the E-Commerce Side-to-Side plug-in. To do so, click the icon that resembles a puzzle piece to the right of the address bar. Then click E-Commerce Side-to-Side.

Click Fullscreen (optional, but recommended). Clicking the yellow Fullscreen button in the upper-right corner of the extension window will open the extension in full-screen mode in a separate browser tab. Not only will this make your side-by-side comparison easier to read, it will also make it easier to switch back and forth between Amazon and the E-Commerce Side-to-Side.

Copy the link for the first product. Go to Amazon.com and search for the item you want to compare. Click the product to view the information page. Then highlight the URL in the address bar at the top of the page. Press Ctrl + C (or Command + C on Mac) to copy the URL.

Switch back to E-Commerce Side-to-Side. Click the browser tab that has E-Commerce Side-by-Side open, or open it in your web browser extensions menu.

Paste the product URL and click Add to Comparison table. Click the large box in the middle of the plug-in window and press Ctrl+V (or Command+V on Mac) to paste the product URL. Click the blue button that says Add to comparison table.

Copy the URL from another product. Return to Amazon.com and search for the second product you want to compare. Highlight the URL for the second product you want to compare. Press Ctrl + C (or Command + C on Mac) and copy the URL.

Switch back over to E-Commerce Side-to-Side. Click the browser tab that has E-Commerce Side-by-Side open, or open it in your web browser extensions menu.

Click Add pasted product web links. It’s the blue button at the top of the page. This allows you to add more products to your side-by-side comparison.
