You can delete a comment on your own post and on a Facebook page (as long as you have the proper permissions). You can also remove comments that you've posted, but you cannot delete comments they've left on posts you didn't create. Here's how to delete comments or posts on Facebook on the Facebook app.

Tap and hold the comment you want to delete.
Tap Delete.
Tap Delete again.

Navigate to the comment you want to delete. This can be found on your profile. To navigate there, tap your profile picture at the top of your feed.
- If you aren't already logged in, enter your email address and password to do so now.
A pop-up menu will open.

Tap Delete again. This will confirm the action.
- If you just want to hide the comment, select Hide from the pop-up menu instead.
- If needed, you can block or report a user.

Navigate to the comment you want to delete. This can be found on your Facebook Page. This is different from your profile.
- To open a page, tap your profile in the top-right. Tap See all profiles, and select the Page.
- You must have the Admin or Editor role to delete comments from the Page.^{[1]

Tap Delete again. This will confirm the action.
- If you want to hide the comment, select Hide from the pop-up menu instead. Keep in mind that hidden comments will still be visible to the person who posted it and their friends.

Navigate to the post you want to delete. This can be found on your profile or Facebook Page.
- If you want to delete a post on a Page, make sure you have the proper permissions.
This is on the right side of the post.
This is towards the bottom of the pop-up menu.

Tap Move. The post will be deleted.
- The post will be moved to the trash. You'll have 30 days to recover the post if needed.

Find the comment that you want to edit. Press and hold it if you're using an Android device, or tap it if you're using an iPhone or iPad. Select "Edit" from the menu and then make the changes you want.

Why doesn't "Delete" appear when I tap the arrow next to a post?

You can only delete posts that you have made. If the "Delete" option doesn't appear, then you are trying to delete someone else's post, which is not possible.
