In Irish folklore, Leprechauns are fairy people who hide their pots of gold at the end of a rainbow! Legend says that if you ever catch one, a leprechaun has to grant you 3 wishes in exchange for his freedom. That's a pretty sweet deal. If you'd like to learn how to draw a leprechaun, here is an easy step-by-step tutorial.

  1. This will serve as the base pose for your Leprechaun.
  2. Remember that leprechauns are small and almost elf-like in nature—try to depict that in your proportions.

  1. Draw a circle in the center of the page. Inside the circle, draw two perpendicular lines—one going vertically and one going horizontally.
  2. Add a truncated cone on top of the circle. This will be the hat.
  3. It should connect with the bottom of the hat. This will be the beard. Then, on each upper side of the semicircle draw a small pointy arch shape.
  4. This will be the body.
  5. Position them as if the leprechaun is showing you something.
  6. To draw, draw a circle with a ring around it. You can also add handles if you wish.
  7. This will make the pants.

Draw a typical male leprechaun, then add long red hair, and a sharper jawline instead of a beard. Add thinner eyebrows, a pointier chin, larger eyes, and a smaller smile.
