Quickly Find a TikTok Video After Refreshing
If you accidentally refreshed TikTok while watching a video you want to get back to, you can find it in your watch history. Just tap the search icon at the top of any video in your feed, then search for an asterisk (*). On the results page, tap "View your watch history" to see all the TikTok videos you've watched.
Steps
Finding a Video After Refreshing on TikTok
-
Search for an asterisk * in TikTok search. If you accidentally refreshed TikTok before finishing a video, you can find it in your watch history. A fast way to get there is to tap the magnifying glass in the TikTok app, type an asterisk (*) into the search bar, and tap Search.
-
Tap View your watch history at the top. You'll see this link at the top of your search results. This brings up a list of all the TikToks you've watched.
- You can also get to your watch history from your profile. To do so, just tap the menu at the top of your profile ☰, then go to Settings and privacy > Activity Center > Watch history.

Tap the Filter by date menu to filter the results. If you just saw the video today, you should find it near the top of the list, as the most recently watched videos are at the top of the list. If not, you can tap the Filter by date menu to narrow down your results.
- For example, if you saw the video yesterday, select Yesterday to see the videos you watched on that day only.
- You can also set a custom date range, or see videos from the last week, last month, or all dates (including today).
- You can also delete your watch history if you'd like.
-
Tap the video to watch it again. Once you find the video, tapping it will open it full screen.
- To make sure you don't lose it again, add it to your favorites.
