Just dissolve one packet of flavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in 1 cup of cold alcohol (vodka or rum works best). Pour the mixture into small (plastic) cups and refrigerate for 2–4 hours until set.

For extra flavor, you can swap some of the cold alcohol for juice or use flavored spirits to match the Jello.

To make Jello shots with vodka, bring 1 cup (237 ml) of water to a boil. Once it's bubbling, add the water to a bowl with a 3-oz (85 g) box of your favorite flavored Jell-O and whisk it together. Stir in 1/2 cup (118 ml) of cold water and 1/2 cup (118 ml) of unflavored vodka. Pour the mixture into small plastic cups with lids, and refrigerate them for 2-3 hours until they set.

If you want to experiment with different flavors and colors, use flavored alcohol or different types of Jell-O. Here are some tasty suggestions to try:
  • Vodka & orange gelatin for orange screwdriver jello shots
  • Vodka & grape gelatin for purple grape jello shots
  • Whipped vodka & lemon gelatin for yellow lemon creme pie jello shots
  • Lime vodka & cherry gelatin for red cherry limeade jello shots
  • Caramel vodka & green apple gelatin for caramel apple jello shots
  • Whipped vodka & orange gelatin for orange creamsicle jello shots
  • White rum & lime gelatin for green daiquiri jello shots
  • Peach bourbon & black cherry gelatin for red cherry bomb jello shots
  • Coconut rum & pineapple gelatin for yellow piña colada jello shots
  • Tequila & lime gelatin for green margarita jello shots
