Martin Short has never publicly announced his sexual orientation. However, he has only ever been romantically linked to women, including his wife, Nancy Dolman, to whom he was married from 1980 until her death in 2010.

According to his 2014 memoir, I Must Say: My Life as a Humble Comedy Legend, he and Dolman were incredibly devoted to one another, so many fans aren't surprised that he hasn't entered into any serious relationships since her death. For others, though, Short's habit of playing flamboyant and energetic characters in film is evidence that he himself may not be straight; however, any rumors about Short's supposed homosexuality are unfounded.
