So I am Trans, but, I'm stuck on a name.
Just an easy question. So I am Trans, but, I'm stuck on a name. I feel like the name Finn feels right and I have my friend call me it and I answer to it. But I also feel like the name Cooper fits me as well. I sometimes answer to it but it takes me a minute, But I also feel like it more of a dog name :(

That's a great question. I would say, first of all, you don't have to choose just one name, and you don't have to stick with that one forever. You can have multiple names, and you can change your name over time. It doesn't have to be one finite decision.
Names are a very personal, vulnerable thing, and it's wonderful to be able to rename yourself something that feels accurate to who you are and representative of that and to be able to share that with the world. And, with that, it's hard to know whether what you share is going to be truly representative until you actually go out and try it. And so you can go out and try one name, see if it fits, try different names in different circumstances, and see how they compare. You can go with one name for a little bit, and if it doesn't work, then you can switch it. The world is your oyster, and it's totally up to you; you have complete agency in deciding what your name is.

hey im also trans and went through many names and all it really took was some trial and error and just maybe ask your friends to Try out a name for a little bit then try out another name for a little bit. Sorry if this isn't easy to understand I'm not the best that English-ing idk

Your fine... Just I like the name Cooper (Always have) But I've started to feel like Finn is a better fit, The name Cooper is the same way. It's just really confusing. (Also I'm not the best at English-ing either lol.)

Cooper seems like a dog name more than a human name but Cooper also feels right... It's just all confusing to me. Finn and Cooper both feel right but I just... idk lol

Cooper is a great name! There's a very famous tv series called Twin Peaks, and the main protagonist is called Cooper. His full name is Dale Cooper, but people call him Coop or Cooper. Anyway, that's just to say that it's a very cool name, and you can go by it if it feels right to you!
