According to most recent estimates, there are close to 9,000 SCPs. The precise number of SCPs can be hard to estimate due to the fact that there are multiple secondary projects that may or may not qualify depending on how you’re counting. For example, there are joke SCPs that don’t technically get counted in the “official” records. There are also dozens of International Collaborations, many of which are wholly unique from anything in the “original” archive.
If you really want to expand the scope of the count, you could even include contest entries, drafts, private entries, hidden URLs, and SCPs that have been replaced, all of which would balloon the number of SCPs considerably. For example, SCP-001 is such an iconic entry that there are currently more than 30 proposed “official” options for the slot. Plus, the total number of SCPs will grow as the archives expand.
Note that the SCP Foundation is fictional and the "anomolies" or SCPs they report on are also fake.
