It depends on the game you decide to play and what content that game has. Is Roblox haram?

Roblox itself isn’t haram, but some of the games and behaviors on the platform are. Potentially haram aspects of Roblox include in-game violence, gambling, avatar creation, and inappropriate social interaction. If you avoid games with haram content and use a premade avatar, Roblox is halal (permissible).

Since Roblox is just a sandbox game, it isn’t inherently haram (forbidden in Islam), but many of the games include haram content. Some promote violence, while others contain explicit language and gameplay. But some, like Grow a Garden, can be considered halal (permissible in Islam) as long as they abide by Islamic rules and don’t promote violence or inappropriate behavior.

Creating your own character in Roblox is often considered haram by Sheikhs, since you’re technically trying to imitate Allah’s creations. If you select a premade avatar or character, then that isn’t haram, since you're not the one making the avatar and imitating Allah’s creations.

   No, trading Roblox stock is not haram. As of October 2025, trading Roblox is halal due to its compliance with Shariah. However, it’s important to follow Islamic law when trading to maintain that halal status. When trading Roblox stock, you must pay zakat depending on your nisab threshold (the amount of money you make to become eligible to pay zakat). Use a zakat calculator to determine how much you’ve profited in a year and how much you’ll need to pay back.

   Use premade avatars that are dressed modestly. Creating avatars in Roblox is haram because it's considered imitating Allah’s creations, but picking premade characters is permissible. Select a premade Roblox avatar that’s dressed in modest clothing (instead of creating your own), and make sure it’s the same gender as you to abide by Islamic principles.

   Limit your playtime to avoid distractions. Dedicating all of your time to Roblox is considered haram, since it can distract you from other useful activities and religious duties. Limit your playtime to a few hours a day, and make sure you schedule it after you’ve handled all of your responsibilities and obligations.
