In Roblox, communities (formerly called groups) are a way to build a small virtual hangout with your friends or other players. You can join up to 100 communities. It's free to join a community, but you'll need 100 Robux to create one. Here's how to create and join communities in Roblox whether you're using your iPhone, iPad, Android, PS5, PS4, Xbox, PC, or Mac. We’ll also cover troubleshooting tips for common issues, like a missing “Join Community” button.
Finding and Joining Roblox Communities
- In the Roblox app, click or tap ••• More at the left or bottom side of the screen. On the website, skip this step.
- Click or tap Communities.
- Select the community you want to join.
- Click the Join Community button.

-
Select Communities. In the app, click or tap the Communities tile. On the website, select Communities from the expanded menu on the left side of the screen.

Search or browse for the community you want. If you already know the name of the community you want to join, you can enter it in the Search bar at the top of the screen. You can also search using keywords (like “anime” or “building”). If you don’t have a specific community in mind, you can browse through the categories on the main Communities page.
-
Select a community. You'll be redirected to the community’s page. You can read their About section, see their Experiences, look at their members, and more.
-
Select Join Community. This is a blue button next to the community’s name.[1]
- Don’t see the Join Community button? You might be in too many communities already, or you might need to try on a different device. See Troubleshooting for more info.
- While you can join some communities instantly, others require manual approval from the community’s owner. In those cases, you might need to wait a while before you can participate.
- Some communities may require you to complete certain tasks before you're approved, such as sending a Personal Message to join. You may be able to find this in the community’s About section.
