Easily deactivate Viber for desktop

Viber is a messaging and calling platform primarily for your smartphone, but it can be accessed using any Windows or Mac computer. If you no longer want your desktop linked to your Viber, you'll need to deactivate the desktop app. This wikiHow teaches you how to deactivate your Viber desktop account on a computer without losing your account data or conversations on your mobile devices.

  1. Open Viber on your computer. The Viber icon looks like a purple speech bubble with a white phone headset in it. You can find it in your Applications folder.
    • To log out of Viber using your computer, you must deactivate it on your desktop. This will also remove all your data and delete Viber's media files folder. Be sure to back up any files from your computer to your mobile device; you won't be able to restore these after deactivation.
    • If you log into Viber on your computer again, you'll only be able to sync the app with the data on your phone.
