  1. The term is a blend of the words “lowkey” and “genuinely,” says Nwodo, and it's used to describe something you feel subtly but fully.[1] “Lowkey” means subtle or discreet, and “genuinely” means authentic or sincere. "Lowkenuinely” is mostly used to add emphasis, the same way someone might use “literally” or “actually.”[2]
    • Nwodo provides this example of how to use the term: “When you die in the video game for the 67th time, so you lowkenuinely start to question everything."[3]
    • The term appears to have popped up on TikTok for the first time in November 2025, when user @bunnyboyjosh posted a video with the caption, “When coach say you lowkenuinely have to dunk to end practice but you’re stuck in a Chicago drill reverse edit and now you’re genuinely cooked in perpetuity.”
    • From there, the word took off and made its way into the general TikTok vernacular. We’ll include some examples of how it’s used on TikTok now below!
