One of the things that makes Undertale such a unique and ground-breaking RPG is its multiple endings. If you are trying to get all endings, you can reset your save data in the game's menu. This will erase most of your player data. However, some data is retained from the previous game and will be referenced in subsequent games. The only way to erase this data is to perform a true reset. A true reset can be performed in-game, as well as by manually deleting the saved data on your computer or console. This wikiHow article teaches you how to perform a true reset in Undertale.
True Reset in Undertale
The True Reset option becomes available in the game menu after you complete a True Pacifist route through the game. However, this does not remove the Soulless state from a Genocide playthrough. To truly reset Undertale, you need to manually delete the save files on your computer or game console.
Steps
-
1Complete a True Pacifist route to unlock True Reset. To be able to complete a True Pacifist route, you must first complete a Neutral route. Once a True Pacifist run-through of the game is completed, the option to select True Reset will be unlocked in the game menu.[1]
-
2Select True Reset in the game menu. If you have completed a True Pacifist run through of the game, you can select True Reset from the game’s menu. However, not all data is deleted and reset. If you have completed a Genocide route through the game, the post-game Soulless state is not erased, and all future endings are affected by it. In other words, an in-game true reset is not really a true reset. You will need to manually delete the game data to perform an actual true reset, as outlined in one of the other methods below.[2]

-
Delete or move your saved game files. You can either delete the files or move them to a placeholder location on your computer if you want to revisit your old save. This will reset the game to the state it was in when it was brand new.[5]
- To delete all the files, press Ctrl + A to select all files. Then press Delete.
- To move all the save files, press Ctrl + A to select all the files. Then press Ctrl + X to cut all the files. Create a new folder in another location on your computer and press Ctrl + V to paste the files into that folder.
- Alternatively, you can rename the Undertale folder to something like Undertale.old. This will force the game to create a new folder with new save data. Your old save data will still be preserved in the old folder.

QuestionI can't find the AppData. I'm on a Windows, it isn't under the user, and I've checked every other user.
TsukiBepCommunity AnswerIn your User's folder, look at the View tab of your Windows Explorer. At the "Show/hide" section, make sure the "Hidden Items" checkbox isn't ticked. If this still doesn't work, follow these steps: 1) Open "Command Prompt". 2) Enter the string of text below: attrib -s -h C:\Users\myusername\AppData The command above would remove any attributes set on this folder that could hide the folder.
