First, reflect on the previous year and take the time to identify what your intentions are for the new year. It's a helpful exercise to understand where you've been, what kind of challenges you may have navigated, and what you accomplished in the previous year. Start the new year fresh with some easy, life-changing steps. Reflect on the past year. Think of where you've been and what you did or did not accomplish. Let that inform the goals you set for the new year. Map out your plan. Write down your timeline for changes and what milestones you want to reach during the year ahead. Be true to the vision you have for yourself and manage your expectations. Ask for help. Once you set your goals, don't be afraid to ask for assistance. Don't assume that people will deny you when you ask for support. Aid and accountability are useful when you're making changes. -
QuestionNow that that I've made my New Years' resolutions, how do I go about fulfilling them?

QuestionWhat if the New Year does not go well?
Community AnswerIt's just a human-created calendar, there is nothing that special about the year itself. Things are bound to go wrong some Januaries, and go right on others. Try not to lump everything that is happening to you into the one negative basket, surely something nice is happening amid the bad stuff? Try to be positive, hold your head up high and make all attempts to get back on track, following the direction you wish to follow. Try a hundred percent most of the time, and learn from mistakes. Things will and do go wrong in life, the best laid plans go astray and starting over is a standard reality for many a human being. You can start over right now, in the morning or whenever it pleases you, there's no need to be hung up on the calendar. -

QuestionI'm feeling emotionally lost and fear the new year will worsen these feelings. What advice do you have?
Angela MellinCommunity AnswerThe new year is an opportunity for a fresh start; try reflecting on past experiences to identify what brings you joy or causes you distress. If you're unsure of your feelings, explore new activities to discover your passions and connect with like-minded individuals. Should you continue to feel confused, nervous, or scared, reach out to a trusted person—like a parent, guardian, family member, friend, or therapist—for support. -
QuestionNow that I've changed my looks completely, I'm scared that people will judge me. How should I live in confidence?
Angela MellinCommunity AnswerYou shouldn't be afraid that people will judge you by the way you look. You have every right to change your appearance. If people can't accept you for what you look like, they don't deserve your attention. Ignore anyone who does try to judge you (they're usually just doing so to feel better about their own insecurities anyway), and instead focus on those who appreciate you for who you are, not what you look like. -

XaftuCommunity AnswerThere is always something to change. Try standing in front of the mirror and be true to your heart. Think about one thing you want to change about yourself, and work on that.
