Andorra 🇦🇩

  1. The flag of Andorra, a small country between France and Spain, is a vertical tricolor of blue, yellow, and red. The leftmost stripe is blue, the rightmost one is red, and the middle one is yellow. On the yellow stripe, there’s a depiction of Andorra’s national coat of arms. This coat of arms features a shield with four quadrants, and the phrase Virtus Unita Fortior, or “United virtue is stronger.” The designs inside the quadrants, from top left and moving clockwise, depict the arms of the Bishop of Urgell, the arms of the Count of Foix, the arms of Catalonia, and the arms of the Viscounts of Béarn.[1]

Colombia 🇨🇴

  1. The Colombian flag is made up of three horizontal stripes. The bottom stripe is red and the middle stripe is blue. The top stripe is yellow, and is also twice the height of the other two stripes, taking up half of the flag’s total height. Colombia’s flag design is similar to that of Ecuador and Venezuela, given that the three countries were once united as the former state of Gran Colombia. The yellow stripe is twice the height of the other two, so it occupies half the height of the flag. In the center of the flag, there’s a national coat of arms depicting an oval shield with a mountain (Chimborazo) and river landscape. There’s also a steamboat on the river, and a sun with Zodiac symbols above it.
