Signs Your Crush Likes You Back

If you’re wondering whether or not your crush likes you back, there are a few telltale signs that could reveal their feelings. Here are a few to look out for:

  • They hold eye contact with you. Eye contact is an important subconscious sign of attraction. If your crush has a habit of catching your eye and then holding your gaze for a prolonged amount of time, this is a good indicator that they’re into you!
  • They smile a lot when you’re around. This is a pretty clear and obvious sign that they’re enjoying your company! If your crush is always sporting a big grin when they’re around you, you can safely assume they have a pretty positive opinion of you.
  • They mirror your body language. When someone’s attracted to you, they’re more likely to sit or stand in the same way you are, essentially mirroring your movements and gestures. For example, if you nod your head and lean in while you’re talking, then your crush does the same thing, this is definitely a good sign.[1]
  • They find casual reasons to touch you. Do they lean in and casually brush up against you when you're standing side-by-side? Do they briefly touch your arm while you’re talking, or tuck a lock of hair behind your ear? All of these are surefire signs that they’re into you!
  • They “preen” when around you. “Preening” is self-grooming behavior, like smoothing down one’s hair or adjusting clothing or jewelry. These behaviors are often seen as flirtatious signals, and they also show that the other person cares about their appearance around you.[2]
  • They’re tone of voice sounds different around you. When someone is attracted to another person, they often talk in a softer, more modulated voice. If your crush uses this flirtatious tone around you but sounds super different when talking to others, they could be crushing on you, too![3]
