The filter light on a Samsung fridge lets you know when it's time to replace the filter for the freshest water. But how do you reset the light after you've replaced the filter? Read this guide to learn more about resetting that light so you always have fresh water in your Samsung fridge.

Quickly Reset the Water Filter Light on a Samsung Fridge

  • Press and hold the "Filter Reset" button for 3 seconds, which might also be labeled "Crushed Ice", "Ice Maker", or "Alarm."[1]
  • The "Filter Reset" button may be inside the right door.
  • For Family Hub models, go to Fridge Manager > Filter Settings > Water Filter > Reset.

  1. This might be inside the door to the right if you don't see a panel on the front of the door.[2]
    • Look for buttons with dual purposes. For example, on some standard models, pressing the "Ice Maker" button for 3 seconds doubles as the "Filter Reset" button, and on other models, pressing the "Alarm" button for 3 seconds works as well.
    • Some 4-door models require you to press and hold "Crushed Ice" to reset the filter.
