Unfortunately, some Facebook photos have been lost in the past due to errors on Facebook's end. While Facebook claims it tries to restore photos that get lost, this isn't always possible.

You can't completely hide the "Your Photos" tab, but you can change the privacy of all of your photos to "Only Me," which makes it so other Facebook users can't see them. Unfortunately, there's no button to make all your photos private, so you'll have to manually edit the privacy of each photo or album to hide them.
