“The Girl in the Bubble” may be about Glinda confronting her privilege. Since Wicked: For Good hasn’t come out yet (as of the writing of this article), “The Girl in the Bubble” hasn’t been released in its entirety. However, this short sneak peek was revealed during the Wicked: One Wonderful Night special. In the clip, Glinda sings the lines, “There’s that beautiful girl, with a beautiful life, such a beautiful life built on lies,” and “For the girl in the bubble, that big, shiny bubble, isn’t it high time for her bubble to pop.”^{[1]

However, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Stephen Schwartz have each revealed small tidbits about “The Girl in the Bubble” that may provide a few clues about the song:
- In an interview with Variety, Ariana Grande (Glinda) commented on the new song, saying, “It’s a pivotal moment in Glinda’s journey [...] It shows a side of her we’ve never seen before. In the stage show, this transformation happens offstage, but in the movie, we get to see her make the decision that defines who she is. It’s a privilege to sing this song and be the first Glinda to bring it to life.”^{[2]
