It can be due to your system settings, such as automatic updates or HDMI-CEC. Luckily, these can be disabled in a few steps. Here's what to do if your Xbox One turns on by itself.

Common Reasons for Xbox Turning Itself On

Your Xbox One may turn on by itself if you have automatic system updates or HDMI-CEC enabled.
Some software glitches and even a malfunctioning controller can trigger your Xbox on.
To fix this, disable automatic updates, HDMI Consumer Electronic Control (HDMI-CEC), and update your console.

Disable Automatic Updates.

Updates may power on your Xbox One automatically. When you have automatic updates enabled, your console can receive and download updates when they're available. This could be outside of your usual active hours. To disable it, do the following:
- Press the Xbox button on your controller.
- Navigate to System.
- Select Settings.
- Select System.
- Select Updates.
- Select Downloads.
- Uncheck Keep my console up to date, Keep my games & apps up to date, and Allow remote installations.
- Restart your Xbox.

Turn off HDMI-CEC.
