Am I Ambidextrous?

So, this is kind of a weird question, but today, my basketball coach had us switch hands when dribbling a ball. They think my movements are less rigid and awkward with my left, but I use my right hand for writing and things that need precision, like things for which my hand should be rigid. It's not necessarily better, my left hand is better physically and it flows more naturally. I do have more control in my right hand, but sometimes my left hand is just more comfortable, if that makes sense? I know for sure that I'm not left-handed. My parents say I used both hands as a child, but once I started preschool, I leaned toward my right hand. I'm considering the possibility of my being ambidextrous. I could just be right-handed, but I'm not really confident, because sometimes my left hand is just BETTER. So am I ambidextrous?

To test if you’re ambidextrous, you can try and write with the opposite hand. The next step would be to grip an exercise band, with it tethered to a stable point, and pull, keeping your elbow close to your side. Try using both hands to assess your back strength on both sides. You can also pull that band so there’s some resistance and tension, then try to twist from the wrist forward and backward. This will give you an idea of how much range you have with either hand.

This would just be to test the ability to complete activities of daily living, using both hands, but not necessarily trying to build up to become ambidextrous, which is also possible.

You're like me! But I reallyy dont think you're 100% ambidextrous! Its more like your crosshanded (mix-handed or cross dominant.) But I think you should test it out! I got these ideas from Google!:

Test your skills side-by-side: A simple test is to do a task like writing the alphabet with both hands and see which is faster and neater. You already know your right hand is better for this, so its a fine-motor

Compare different skills: Pay attention to which hand you naturally use for different of activities. Do you throw a ball with your right hand or left? Do you naturally use a mouse with one hand over the other? Observing yourself in different ways might get you a picture of your pref.

But like don't worry about labels, a formal label isn't needed though. The fact that you have proficiency with both hands for different things is a GREAT advantage, especially in sports, regardless of the name for it.
