As of late 2024, Blake Lively and Taylor Swift are reportedly not friends anymore. Their relationship soured after Swift was dragged into Lively's legal battle with her It Ends with Us costar Justin Baldoni, which started in December 2024. (I guess you could say there's bad blood there.)

After Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 for alleged sexual harassment, breach of contract, and retaliation, he countersued her (and husband Ryan Reynolds) for extortion and defamation, claiming Lively weaponized her friendship with Taylor Swift against him (his case has since been thrown out by a judge, but Lively's is still ongoing). Text messages were released in court, in which Lively referred to Reynolds and Swift as her "dragons" and compared herself to Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. Swift allegedly felt used by Lively, and now the two former BFFs aren't on speaking terms, as a source told People in August of this year.

Fans believe Taylor Swift referenced the war with Lively in her song "Cancelled" off her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, which includes the lyrics "Good thing I like my friends cancelled…. / Welcome to my underworld, where it gets quite dark. / At least you know exactly who your friends are. / They’re the ones with matching scars" and "They stood by me before my exoneration. / They believed I was innocent / So I’m not here for judgement, no."

Swift also released an alternate Life of a Showgirl cover in which she's wearing a pink Lorraine Schwartz bangle that fans noticed looks like the one Lively wore to the London premiere of It Ends with Us. Coincidence? Maybe—but lots of fans don't think so. In any case, Swift hasn't confirmed the meaning of the song, so all we can do is speculate.
