The Bridgerton Diamonds
SPOILERS for all current and future seasons of Bridgerton ahead!
In the hit Netflix series Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, presiding over British high society, sets the stage for the marriage market each season by selecting a “diamond”: the debutante she deems most eligible out of the year’s cohort. The diamond would gain the attention of many suitors eager to woo the most desirable woman, yet she must also contend with the never-ending buzz of gossip surrounding her name.
Below are the Queen’s diamond selections as of February 2026, with four and a half seasons of the show having been released:
- Season 1 - Daphne Bridgerton: The eldest of the Bridgerton sisters, she comes from a reputable family and is noted for her grace and beauty. At her debut, the Queen proclaims her “flawless,” catapulting her to the height of desirability on the marriage market that season.
- Season 2 - Edwina Sharma: A newcomer to the Ton and special guest of Lady Danbury, she gains the favor of the Queen with a recommendation from her aforementioned host. Her “diamond” status earns her an eager suitor in the Viscount Anthony Bridgerton.
- Season 3 - Francesca Bridgerton: The third in line of the Bridgerton sisters, Francesca shares in her sister’s well-regarded lineage. She does not capture the Queen’s fancy at her debut, but manages nevertheless to capture her affection while playing the pianoforte for herself at a ball.
-
Season 4 - Benedict Bridgerton: The Queen, proclaiming “I tire of debutantes” in a fit of mischievous fancy, declares Benedict the most eligible bachelor of the season as opposed to her usual pick of an eligible young lady. She and Lady Whistledown wager whether it is possible that he will be married by the end of the season.
