  5. Turn off the TV with the Fire TV Stick remote, then turn it back on after 10 seconds.

  1. If you can't get your Fire TV Stick to control the volume on your TV, first try updating the Fire TV Stick.[1]
    • Go to Settings > My Fire TV or Device & Software > About > Check for System Update.
    • If there is an update available, download and install it. Then, try the steps above again.
  2. Some users have found that removing their TV from their Fire TV Stick and then adding it back helped fix the volume issue.
    • Go to Equipment Control > Manage Equipment.
    • Select your device, then select Change Receiver.
    • Click the three-line menu in the bottom-right corner of the screen, then select Remove this device?
    • Once your TV is removed, add it back. Then, try the steps above again.
  3. If nothing else works, try factory resetting your Fire TV Stick. Before resetting, safely remove any expandable storage.
    • Press and hold the Back button and the right side of the navigation circle for 10 seconds.
    • On the TV screen, choose Continue to move forward with the factory reset. Once the reset is complete, try the steps above again.
