In Roblox, "e commands" are commands that, when sent, make your character do an emote. A handful of these emotes are built into the game, while others you can purchase for free from the Roblox marketplace. In this article, we go over all the e commands in Roblox, as well as how to use them. We also answer a few frequently asked questions about these emote commands. Read on to learn more.

Roblox Emotes (E Commands)

Built-in emotes: /e wave, /e point, /e cheer, /e laugh, /e dance, /e dance2, /e dance3
Free store emotes: /e applaud, /e shrug, /e tilt, /e hello, /e point2, /e salute, /e stadium
Use e commands by pressing "/" to open the chat window, then type the e command you want to use.

Built-in emotesThere are a number of built-in emotes (or e commands) available to all Roblox users.^{[1]

- /e wave: This emote will make your character do a simple waving animation.
- /e point: This emote makes your character point at something in front of them.
- /e cheer: This emote makes your character throw their hands in the air and cheer.
- /e laugh: This emote will have your character double over in laughter.
- /e dance: This dance will have your character jumping and flailing their arms.
- /e dance2: This dance has your character hold their arms out and move them like they're doing an arm wave dance move.
- /e dance3: This dance has your character sway their hips and move their arms slowly in the hair.

Research source} To claim these emotes, click on the name of the emote and then click Get. These emotes are:
- /e applaud: This emote makes your character clap.
- /e shrug: This emote makes your character shrug their shoulders and shake their head slightly.
- /e tilt: This emote makes your character stand on one leg and tilt to the side.
- /e hello: This emote is similar to the "wave" emote, but the wave is more enthusiastic.
- /e point2: This emote is similar to the "point" emote, but it's more exaggerated.
- /e salute: This emote makes your character do a very exaggerated salute.
- /e stadium: This emote makes your character crouch down, then stand up and hold their hands in the air like they're doing "the wave" at a stadium.

How to Use E Commands

This will open the chat box. You can type the emote command directly into the chat.
For example, if you want your character to laugh, you'd type /e laugh.

Press ↵ Enter to send the message. Your character will do the emote that you wrote in the command.
- If you want, you can press the Emotes button instead to see which emotes are available. However, it's faster to just type the e command into the chat instead of clicking on the emotes individually.

Can I add more e commands in Roblox? No, if you're a player of a game, you can't add more emotes in Roblox. Emotes are coded into the game, so you'd have to create your own experience to make custom emotes.

Can I add custom emotes to my Roblox game? Yes, you can, but the method will vary slightly depending on what type of emote you want to add. The most common way, however, is to open the local script called "Animate." In this script, you'll see a big chunk of emotes around line 39. Add your custom emote here, as well as in the "emoteNames" table.^{[3]
