The quickest ways to farm deaths to earn the achievement
PDF download Download Article

Geometry Dash is a fun game, but it’s also notoriously challenging. You might die hundreds or even thousands of times before you complete some levels. But even if you play regularly, it can be hard to earn the “135,000 Attempts” achievement, which requires you to die—you guessed it—135,000 times through the course of the game. Luckily, there’s a faster way to do it. We’re going to show you the best settings and level set-ups for farming deaths (or attempts) in Geometry Dash.

How to Earn the 135000 Attempts achievement in Geometry Dash

  • Enable “Auto-Retry” and “Enable Faster Reset” so you’ll respawn faster.
  • Increase the Level Speed & Time Warp if you’re playing in a level you created.
  • Set up a level with a spike next to the spawn point.
  • Let the game run in the background—you’ll get 1 attempt every time you die and respawn.

Best Settings for Farming Attempts in Geometry Dash

  1. Even though you’ll usually rack up a lot of deaths (or attempts) when you’re playing Geometry Dash, you’ll want to be sure you have the right settings equipped before you try to farm attempts. That will make the process that much faster. Go into your Settings menu, then click on Options and check the boxes next to “Auto-Retry” and “Enable Faster Reset.”[1]
    • “Auto-Retry” will allow you to respawn every time you die. It should be on by default, but double-check to be sure you haven’t turned it off.
    • “Enable Faster Reset” cuts the restart time in half—after you die, your game will reset in 0.5 seconds instead of 1.0 seconds.
  2. If you’re farming attempts in a level you created, open your level and click on the Edit button. (It looks like a hammer and wrench.) You can increase your Level Speed to 4x and your Time Warp speed to 2x, allowing you to run through levels 8 times faster than the default speed.
    • To increase the Level Speed: Click the Options menu (the gear icon in the top right of the screen). In the top left of the Options menu, click the arrow under “Speed” and choose the icon with 4 red arrows.[2]
    • To increase Time Warp: Click the button that says “COL” with an RGB color palette. Scroll through the list of triggers and select “Time Warp.” Click near the start of your level to place the Time Warp Trigger, then click the Trigger and “Edit Object.” Move the “TimeMod” slider all the way to the right so it says 2.00.[3]

  3. The “Quick Keys” setting allows you to assign keys to certain actions in the game. Take note of which key is linked to “Respawn” (it’s usually “R” by default)—this is the one you’ll use when you’re farming attempts.[4]
    • Unfortunately, this setting is only available if you’re playing Geometry Dash on Steam.

How to Farm Deaths in Geometry Dash Levels

  1. One of the easiest ways to farm attempts in Geometry Dash is to make a level with a spike right at the start. To do that, go into the level’s Edit menu and click on “Build.”[5] Choose the triangle from the list of shapes, then place a simple triangle spike right next to the spawn point at the level’s start.
    • If you have Auto-Retry enabled, you’ll hit the spike, die, respawn, and hit the spike again. Let the game run in the background to rack up deaths without having to do anything.
    • You can also place a Practice Portal in front of a spike in any level—not just one you created—to die over and over.
  2. Once you’ve enabled Quick Keys, open Geometry Dash in Steam, then go into any level (it doesn’t have to be one you created). Click the R key (or whichever key you’ve set to Respawn) over and over. Each time you respawn, it will count as an attempt (or death).[6]
    • This may also work if you just hold down the R key instead of clicking it over and over.
    • Some players have said they were able to automate this by downloading a key presser, or a third-party software that makes the game think you’re pressing the Respawn key repeatedly.
  3. Some Geometry Dash players use a program called Geode Eclipse to mod their game. If you just want to check off the 135,000 deaths achievement as quickly as possible, this is the fastest way to do it. Set up a farming level where you’ll crash into a spike repeatedly, as described above. Then, open the Eclipse menu.[7] There are tons of settings, so feel free to play around with them—but these may be particularly useful when you’re farming attempts:
    • Set “FPS Bypass” to “Unlocked.”
    • Go into the Eclipse menu and set “Auto Kill” to 0%.
    • Turn “Respawn Delay” to 0 and On.
    • Enter the level and let it run while you rack up attempts.

Is it cheating to farm deaths?

  1. Geometry Dash doesn’t have a competitive leaderboard for deaths (or attempts), so the only reason to try to get more attempts is to obtain in-game achievements. Even if you use an auto-clicker or mod to get the achievement, it’s not affecting anyone else’s game, so it’s not really considered a big deal.
    • Some players might want to earn those accomplishments organically—if that’s you, farming attempts may not be the best choice.
