Jujutsu Weapons Explained

Steps
All Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Tools
-
1Inverted Spear of Heaven The Inverted Spear of Heaven is a special grade cursed tool with the ability to nullify any cursed technique it makes contact with. It’s a short-handled, double-pronged spear that resembles a dagger. Wielded by Toji Fushiguro, the Inverted Spear of Heaven is so powerful that it cut through Gojo’s Infinity, which nearly killed him.[1]
-
2Black Rope Black Rope was a powerful cursed tool that was passed down in the Odoul clan in Africa. It was imbued with a curse that allowed it to nullify and cancel out the effects of any other cursed techniques, something that had been woven into it over the course of several decades. This made it a powerful cursed tool.[2]
- The only drawback is that a part of the rope burned away whenever its cursed technique was used.
- Black Rope is one of the only cursed tools that can open the Prison Realm where Gojo is trapped, but it was unfortunately destroyed during Gojo’s fight against Miguel Odoul in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.

3Executioner’s Sword The Executioner’s Sword is a special case, as it is technically Hiromi Higuruma’s gavel. As a lawyer turned sorcerer, Higuruma was granted a gavel that can transform into different shapes and sizes as a cursed tool. Once he activates his domain expansion, this gavel becomes the Executioner’s Sword, which deals a single fatal blow that severs your soul if it lands.[3]
- The gavel can transform into hooks, hammers, and all sorts of other powerful tools. It can even transfer from his right and left hands at will!
-
4Nanami’s Blunt Blade The Blunt Blade is imbued with Kento Nanami’s cursed energy. It doesn’t have any special properties aside from that, but it has been used to slice through an endless number of curses throughout the series. The tool projects slashes of cursed energy and deals damage with blunt force, making it a strong, versatile weapon in Nanami’s arsenal.[4]
- The Blunt Blade hasn’t been used since Nanami’s death during the Shibuya Arc.
-
5Split Soul Katana Split Soul Katana is a powerful cursed sword that has the rare ability to cut through a target’s soul. Not only does it grant users immense cutting strength, but the ability to cut through souls also makes it a fatal threat to sorcerers and cursed users. It has been wielded by Toji Fushiguro and Maki Zenin.[5]
- Maki Zenin technically wields a replica. When Mai was at the brink of death, she used the last of her cursed energy to create a replica of the tool that Maki could use to take down the Zenin clan.
-
6Playful Cloud Playful Cloud is a powerful cursed staff that’s broken into three sections and connected by rings. It’s a special grade cursed tool that surprisingly doesn’t harbor a cursed technique. Instead, it is used as a strength fortifier, relying on the raw power of the user and amplifying their strength using cursed energy.[6]
- Playful Cloud has been wielded by plenty of Jujutsu Kaisen characters, including Toji Fushiguro, Maki Zenin, Megumi Fushiguro, Suguru Geto, and Aoi Todo.
- Toji Fushiguro was the final user of Playful Cloud. After being briefly revived, Toji took the weapon from Maki, sharpened it into spears, and used it to fight Dagon and Megumi.
- Toji broke most of Playful Cloud during his fight with Dagon, and during his fight with Megumi, he used the rest of it to commit suicide after recognizing Megumi as his son.
-
7The Chain of a Thousand Miles The Chain of a Thousand Miles is a cursed tool wielded by Toji Fushiguro. It comes with a unique ability: as long as you keep one of the ends covered and shielded from your opponent’s view, the chain will stretch endlessly, making it an incredibly powerful-ranged weapon.[7]
- Toji made this cursed tool even deadlier when he attached the Inverted Spear of Heaven to it, which extended the latter weapon’s range.
-
8Jet Black Shadow Sword The Jet Black Shadow Sword is a cursed sword with the ability to absorb shadows. When it absorbs shadows, it turns jet black. When their powers are released, the sword turns back to silver. It’s most often used by Megumi Fushiguro due to his Ten Shadows technique, which allows him to access different shadow shikigami and charge the sword faster.[8]
- The Jet Black Shadow Sword has also been used by Maki Zenin.
-
9Nobara’s Straw Doll, Hammer & Nails This is a special case, as the Hammer & Nails can only be made effective with Nobara Kugisaki’s Straw Doll Technique. By using a hammer and cursed energy-infused nail to strike her opponent, she can establish a connection with them through a straw doll. Through this connection, she can inflict damage to them and their souls.[9]
-
10Maki’s Glasses Since Maki Zenin isn’t able to see cursed spirits due to her lack of cursed energy (a result of her Heavenly Restriction), she uses a pair of glasses that allow her to see curses and cursed energy. These glasses change the game, as Maki is able to use the incredible strength and speed granted to her by the Heavenly Restriction to effortlessly take down curses.[10]
-
11Gakuganji’s Electric Guitar Yoshinobu Gakuganji channels his cursed technique through an awesome electric guitar. This cursed tool works by transmitting Gakuganji’s cursed energy into sound waves that can be used to deal damage to opponents. We’ve only seen this cursed tool used once, and that was during the attack on Jujutsu High by Juzo Kumiya.[11]
-
12Miwa’s Katana Miwa’s Katana is a simple cursed tool, as it’s just a katana imbued with cursed energy, but it’s a powerful symbol for Kasumi Miwa. It represents her duty to provide for her family, which she swore herself to when first becoming a jujutsu sorcerer. It’s a constant reminder to remain strong and disciplined for the sake of her family.[12]
- She often uses her simple domain to fortify the sword’s strength due to its lack of abilities.
-
13Slaughter Demon Slaughter Demon is a simple cursed tool that appeared early on in the series and introduced readers to the idea of cursed tools. It’s a small blade imbued with cursed energy, which is deemed perfect for Yuji Itadori, who was just beginning to grasp the world of jujutsu. He was luckily able to use it to exorcise cursed spirits, albeit briefly.[13]
- Slaughter Demon was broken after Yuji had his hand cut off during a fight with a Finger Bearer (a cursed spirit who’s eaten one of Ryomen Sukuna’s fingers).
-
14Mei Mei’s Battle Axe Mei Mei’s Battle Axe is an oversized battle axe Mei Mei uses to take down cursed spirits. It doesn’t have any known Cursed Techniques, but Mei Mei uses it with incredible speed and precision to fight through an army of cursed spirits during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.[14]
-
15The Sword of Extermination The Sword of Extermination is a long, double-edged cursed tool that is coated in Positive Energy. It is attached to Mahoraga, the strongest shikigami available to users of the Ten Shadows Technique, at the arm, and is used to fight cursed spirits in close-quarters combat, as it can deal serious damage.[15]
-
16Festering Life Sword The Festering Life Sword is a cursed tool wielded by the special grade cockroach curse, Kurourushi, that is said to mix life and death. It’s a short, cleaver-like sword that can shoot (or slash) small cockroach eggs into the target’s skin to spawn infectious cockroach curses.[16]
-
17Nanako’s Cell Phone Nanako Hasaba has a uniquely modern cursed tool in the form of a smartphone. It works in tandem with her cursed technique, which lets her manipulate anything she takes a photo of. Although Nanako is seemingly able to do whatever she wants to her opponent using the cell phone and her cursed technique, the specific details and limitations are unknown.[17]
- We never got to see the full extent of Nanako’s technique. Although she tried to use it against Sukuna after he killed Mimiko, he killed her before she could get the chance.
-
18Haruta’s Hand Sword The evil Haruta Shigemo wields a cursed tool with a hand as the hilt. If that wasn’t bad enough, the cursed tool is sentient, and it’s the only cursed tool known to have a mind of its own. It can use its hand to crawl independently, support Haruta in battle, and even levitate in mid-air, making it a deadly weapon for any sorcerer to have in their arsenal.[18]
-
19Dragon Bone Dragon Bone is a powerful cursed tool that’s considered to be the pinnacle of Juzo Kumiya’s works. It’s a thick blade that’s connected to a mechanical hilt that builds up cursed energy and kinetic force and shoots it back out using three engine-type holes on the back. This makes it much stronger than normal.[19]
- Juzo Kumiya is known for creating powerful cursed tools.
- Dragon Bone was acquired by Maki Zenin after Master Tengen made her aware of its location.
-
20Kamutoke Kamutoke is a single-bladed cursed tool that Ryomen Sukuna wields after taking possession of Megumi Fushiguro’s body. Not much is known about how it works, but it is imbued with Yorozu’s innate technique. With that technique, Sukuna is able to summon powerful lightning bolts.[20]
-
21Honoyagi Honoyagi is a cursed tool used by Tsuguri Okkotsu in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo. It takes the form of a standard katana, but it infuses the blade with the sparks created when the guard and sheath rub against each other. Eventually, these sparks come together to form a fiery coating around the blade.
