If you’re trying to collect all of the rarest Brainrots in Steal a Brainrot, you won’t want to miss out on Meowl. This incredibly rare Brainrot is the second-highest earner in the game, but it’s really hard to get. We talked to brainrot expert Tobi Nwodo to help us find out everything you need to know about Meowl, including how much it’s worth, tips on how to get it, and where the OG Meowl meme originated. Let’s get started!

Meowl: Rarity & Value

  1. Nwodo says, “Meowl is a very rare OG Brainrot” with a cat face and the body of an owl. It costs $450B—which is a lot of money, but considering it earns $450M/second, it’s definitely worth the investment if you have it.[1]
    • Currently, the only more valuable Brainrot is the Strawberry Elephant, which costs $550B and earns $550M/second. The only other OG Brainrot is Skibidi Toilet, which costs $350B and earns $350M/second.
    • OG Brainrots are the rarest and most valuable in the game. They’re based on popular memes or characters that were not originally produced with AI. Meowl was originally made with Photoshop—we’ll talk about that later in the section on its origins.
    • Nwodo says it’s been confirmed that only 2,500 copies of Meowl exist in Steal a Brainrot.[2]
    • Like the other OGs, if you manage to snag a Meowl, you’ll get a Meowl skin for your base—cat ears will appear on the roof, and the stairs will be striped like a cat’s tail.

How to Get Meowl in Steal a Brainrot

PDF download Download Article
  1. Even though it’s really rare, Meowl does sometimes spawn on the red carpet. It will take a lot of patience to get it this way (although you probably have a better chance of buying one than stealing it). If you do see one appear, be ready to grab it fast—competition will be fierce. Here are a few tips to help you snag Meowl if it spawns:
    • Gather enough money. Meowl is pretty expensive, so if you’re hoping to snag one, collect cash from your base and avoid buying expensive Brainrots until you have $450,000,000 in your in-game account.
    • Free up a Brainrot spot. Double-check that there’s an available space in your base before you try to buy Meowl. If your base is full, sell your lowest earner to make room for a new one.
    • Position your base near the start of the carpet. Try rejoining servers until you get a spot that’s right next to the spawn point. That way, Meowl won’t have as far to go to reach your base, so you’ll have a better chance of grabbing it.
    • Equip a weapon. Have a hand slap, baseball bat, or other weapon ready. Once you buy Meowl, be prepared to fight off other players to keep them from redirecting Meowl to their base. Stay with Meowl all the way to your base—once it gets there, you’re safe as long as your base stays locked.
    • Play during events for a better chance. During events like Admin Abuse and Taco Tuesday, Steal a Brainrot admins often boost luck, sometimes as much as 10% or higher. You can also buy 2–4x Server Luck for Robux. This might increase your chances of seeing rare Brainrots like Meowl.
  2. Nwodo says that it’s usually best to steal Meowl from another player’s base “because its spawn rates are extremely low.”[3] Keep joining servers until you find someone with a Meowl. Then, when they leave their base, rush in and grab Meowl. If you can carry it all the way back to your base without being attacked by the other player, it will be yours.[4]
    • Set traps to slow other players. It can help to place traps around the other players’ base, as well as your own base. That may trip them up long enough for you to snag Meowl and get back to your base.
    • Use tools to your advantage. Steal a Brainrot has tons of different weapons that you can use to help you steal, like the Medusa Head, Quantum Cloner, and Invisibility Cloak. Experiment with these to see if they give you an advantage.
    • Stealing OGs can be really difficult. Most people transfer OG Brainrots to an alt account or keep them on private servers, so finding one on a public server—especially unguarded—will probably be pretty difficult.
  3. The best way to find a Meowl for trade is on the Steal a Brainrot Discord server. (You can find the link on the game’s main Roblox page.) Chat with other players and try to find someone with a Meowl they’re willing to trade. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind when you’re looking for a trade:
    • Be prepared to give up valuable Brainrots. To trade for an OG Brainrot like Meowl, you’ll have to come with a good offer. Try offering several Secrets—the tier right below OG. If you have any secrets with rare mutations, it might help boost your chances even more.
    • Trade with caution. Sometimes, unscrupulous players will offer to make a trade, then take your Brainrots without completing their end of the bargain. There’s not really a good way to know in advance who will and won’t play fair, but chatting with the other player for a while might give you a sense of their intentions.
    • Don’t spend real money or share personal information. You might see people offering Meowls for sale online, or they may promise that they’ll give you a Meowl in return for you sharing your information (or even just liking and commenting on a video). These are often scams—stick to in-game currency, stealing, or trades.

Meowl’s Origins & Addition to the Game

  1. The original image featured a barn owl’s body with a cat’s head, and the creature was sitting in a tree. The picture was posted to the Chinese social media app Weibo by user Zhumaokele. Other users created their own versions of Meowl, and the meme was moderately successful throughout the 2010s and early 2020s.[7]
    • Meowl’s face is Melonpi, a cat that went viral in China.
    • In the mid-2020s, Meowl resurfaced on social media, like in this TikTok from @clo_rad1 that says, “When you can’t decide to be a bird or a cat so you just wing it.” The renewed attention is likely why it was selected for Steal a Brainrot.
    • Meowl was added to Steal a Brainrot in the Indonesia Update on October 18, 2025.[8]
