    Expert Answer
Being serious all of the time and holding on to a productive or competitive mindset can create some stress. It's just really difficult to stay in that mindframe for a long time. It can even have negative impacts in your health, and it's just not fun. So, playing and being playful is a kind of way to release some of that energy.

    Expert Answer
A playful mindset doesn't necessarily mean that you're just filled with jokes all the time. If you're filing your taxes and in your head you're going to try and play a game with yourself where you're going to try and fill out all of the forms in 20 minutes or something, that's a playful mindset.
