Before you open the wine, repeat back to the customer the wine that they ordered to ensure you have the correct bottle. Then, pour a glass for the host first. If the host approves of the wine, go around the table clockwise and serve wine to the other guests. Always pour wine on the right-hand side of the customer. -
QuestionI operate a boutique and would like to sell wine for a local winery and gift baskets. Do I need a liquor license?
EpiccellarsCommunity AnswerYes, you will need a license in order to sell wine. As an example, in the state of Texas, you can apply for a winemaker license (even if you do not produce wine) or a wholesale license (which would allow you to sell wine and liquor). Regulations vary from state to state, so be sure to check requirements for your state of residence.
