Filters for the Aqua-Pure AP801 and AP801-1.5 are used to address sediment, taste, rust, and odor concerns with your drinking water. The Aquapure AP810 whole house water filter removes sediment, rust, and other contaminates down to 5 microns. Depending on your incoming water quality it is recommended that you replace your AP810 filter at least every 6 months.

  1. Bleed the pressure from your Aqua-Pure unit by pressing down on the red button (pressure relief button) on the top of the filter housing

  2. Once in place turn to the left to unscrew.
  3. Add a small amount of silicone o-ring lubricant (available at most hardware stores) to the O-ring and screw the housing back into the head.

  • Question
What can I do if I push the red button to turn the water off, but it still won't come loose?

The red button does not turn the water off, you need a valve before the filter to do that. The red button releases the remaining pressure. If you are having trouble, somehow brace the filter and turn it really hard. I broke the PVC pipe connecting it to my house because I didn't brace it when I was trying to get the filter off.

The button will do a little, but you probably just need to run the closest faucet for a while.
  • Question
When I turn the water on after putting in a new filter, and closing the housing, water comes pouring out. The housing appears to be correctly tightened. What could be wrong?

Did you lose the large black O-ring? If the O-ring is missing, or if it's getting hard, then you will have a flood.
