If you've ever played a Career run in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, you may have come across a mysterious acupuncturist offering to activate one of your Uma's chakras. Like all Umamusume events, each option can have positive or negative consequences—but what does each option in the acupuncture event do? In this article, we'll explain exactly that, going over what positive or negative effects each option can have. We also tell you which option is the best to pick, as well as some backup options (just in case). Keep reading to learn more!

Best Acupuncture Event Choice

Overall, the best option to pick in the acupuncture event is Activate the winning chakra. This option has about a 50/50 chance of succeeding versus failing, but if you succeed, your Uma will get two great skills. If you fail, your Uma will thankfully not lose any stat points nor will she get any bad conditions.

This option has a good chance of giving you two great skills that are useful for every Uma. Plus, if you manage to get a failure, you don't lose any stat points, nor do you get any negative status effects (that would cause you to have to waste a turn going to the Infirmary).
If you already have Corner Recovery ◯ and Straightaway Recovery, you should pick the option to activate the Charm Chakra. This option has a very high chance of succeeding and applies a positive condition that helps raise Friendship Bonds faster. If you fail, your Uma still won't lose any skill points, and she may not get the negative status condition.
If you are wary about failing the event, you can opt to just back out without picking one of the acupuncture options. While you'll miss out on some potentially great skills or other buffs, you won't run the risk of getting any negative conditions or losing stat points.

How to Get the Acupuncture Event

There's about a 10-20% chance that you'll encounter the acupuncturist event (which is called "Acupuncture (Just an Acupuncturist, No Worries! ☆)") during your Umamusume Career run. There's nothing you can do to increase the odds of this event showing up, so you'll just have to keep playing until the acupuncturist Sasami Anshinzawa decides to show up!^{[7]
